Checking Tires for Wear
Over time, the tires on the SE-3 Patroller will wear and need replacing.
WARNING
Do not ride the Segway SE-3 Patroller with excessively worn tires (Figure 49).
A tire could burst, causing personal injury or damage to the SE-3 Patroller.
Front Tire
1. Make sure the SE-3 Patroller is powered off and unplugged.
2. Apply the parking brake (p. 24).
3. Measure the depth of the treads (Table 7). If the tread depth is at or
below 2 mm, replace the tire.
Rear Tires
1. Make sure the SE-3 Patroller is unplugged and powered off.
2. Apply the parking brake (p. 24).
3. Locate the tread wear indicators in the landings between treads.
If the treads are worn down level with the tread wear indicators,
replace the tire.
Alternately, measure the depth of the treads (Table 7). If the tread
depth is at or below 3.8 mm, replace the tire.
NOTE
To replace the tires, contact an Authorized Segway Dealer or Distributor, or
Segway Customer Care. For a list of Authorized Dealers and Distributors, visit
